Where to find your birth time
Your birth time is written on the full copy of your birth certificate. Most people can obtain it within a few days, and it is usually free from the civil registry of their place of birth. Here is where to look.
Why the time is required
Your Ascendant, your houses and your Vedic seasons are calculated from the exact time of birth. Without it, these cannot be established, which is why the book needs your time in order to be created. A few minutes shift the chart, so it is worth tracking down precisely.
1. Your full birth certificate
This is the most reliable source. The full copy of the birth certificate, not the short extract, carries the exact time of birth.
- Request it from the civil registry, records office or vital records department of the town or city where you were born.
- In many countries the request is free for the person concerned and takes only a few days.
2. The registry of your place of birth
If you do not have the certificate to hand, the civil registry, or town hall, of your place of birth can issue it. Have your full name and date of birth ready.
3. Your health record
The birth time is often noted in the first pages of a childhood health record, or in the maternity file. A parent may also have kept it somewhere.
Cannot find it?
The time is required to create the book: without it the order cannot go through, because the Ascendant, the houses and the Vedic seasons would have nothing to be calculated from.
